FAB Friday at Blind Whino

Writer: Dani SauterDani Sauter

Yesterday's FAB Friday goes out to Blind Whino Arts Club. Last night I attended the Cherry Blast Live Arts show with my friend and husband where all artwork was inspired by cherry blossoms as a part of the Cherry Blossom Festival. I have been beyond eager to see the inside of Blind Whino for months. I posted a Saturday Street Style entry about Blind Whino back in December, but had only seen the outside of the abandoned church turned multi-colored mural art club at that time. The inside was everything I was hoping for- cool, artist expressions and colorful murals spray the entirety of the walls and the architecture is an eerie reminder that you are in an abandoned church. The cherry blossom inspired artwork was unique, creative, and intriguing. There was a DJ playing on the main level where tissue cherry blossoms spanned the ceiling, and a band on the upstairs level, where paintings of roses and wolves surround the stage. This arts club is beyond cool and I'm pretty sure there's nothing else in DC like it (at least that I've seen). If you are looking for something different and new to do, keep watch for their upcoming events on their website. You won't be disappointed.

XOXO
