You all know from Monday's post I'm on a huge leopard kick right now, right? So, when Gwynnie Bee asked me to participate in a 3 ways to wear post featuring this Rachel Roy Tuxedo Cape, I knew leopard had to be involved.
I am a huge fan of capes. They instantly add the perfect touch of class and confidence to any look, and I personally think they make you look super sophisticated, too. I am always on the hunt for great pieces like this in my closet as they are timeless and give off an elegant look. When Gwynnie Bee sent this Tuxedo Cape, I was totally floored. It is well made and super sleek, and my mind started turning of how I was going to style this look.
For those of you who may not be familiar with Gwynnie Bee, you can read one of my previous posts to learn about the subscription based service for sizes 10-32. The thing I like most about GB, is that you can wear the clothing and then return it or keep it, which is great for special occasions or events where you may not want to purchase something out of pocket.
To style the Rachel Roy Tuxedo Cape, I decided to make it cool street style, since I label my personal style as classic with an edge. I absolutely love the look of classic and feminine items mixed with something edgy, as it makes me instantly feel “city girl cool”. When styling this classic and feminine Rachel Roy Tuxedo Cape, I decided to mix it with a sheer leopard body suit and faux leather leggings to give it the perfect edgy flair.
To obtain this style, I always look for details of prints, embellishments, leather, or lace to mix together to achieve this classic yet edgy look. Don't be afraid to mix fabrics and toughen up a classic piece- like I did here with the sheer leopard and faux leather leggings with a sophisticated cape jacket. It completely elevates a look and adds some definite character.
My styling was only one of three looks that were put together by myself and two other influencers. To see the other ways to style a cape jacket, check out the GB Blog with full details!
