Washington Life Magazine 2018 Trendsetter

When I started my blog in 2014, one goal I had was to "make it into a Washington DC publication." This goal is something that I always strived for, as it was my very first long-term goal. To me, it means hard work and growth, and I knew that if I ever made it into a DC publication, that would mean I have worked hard and grown as a brand.

Today I am so ecstatic to share that my goal/dream of making it into a DC publication is here. I am honored to have been included in Washington Life Magazine's list of DC Trendsetters for 2018 in this months publication. The feature includes six other DC style creatives, all whom I deeply respect. It is not only an honor to be labeled as a DC Trendsetter by Washington Life Magazine, but to be in such great company, as well.

The feature includes a mini interview for each of us on why we love style, and how we embrace our unique and individual looks. You can read the digital publication here, or you can find it in print in select locations around the DC area. The shoot took place on the Union Market rooftop, and after lots of back and forth on what I should wear, I went with a black puff sleeve shift dress from ELOQUII that reminds me of Fame Monster era Lady Gaga, a Gucci belt, fabulous earrings and sunnies, and thigh-high snakeskin boots.

Thank you, Washington Life Magazine, for including me as a DC Trendsetter. It truly means so much to me, and is something I will be proud of forever.

In ending, I want to share my favorite Kanye lyric with you that I always tell myself when I'm feeling uninspired or like I can't do something:

"Shoot for the stars so if you fall, you land on a cloud." -Homecoming Feat. Chris Martin

Always shoot for the stars, friends. You'd be surprised at what goals you can accomplish when you keep going. And, never, <ever> give up on your dreams.
