#XOQ Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking.

I couldn't resist naming todays post after the famous Miranda Priestly quote from Devil Wears Prada. Anyone who is anyone obviously thinks of flowers when they think about spring. Call me 'basic' <because cherry blossoms are all I'm seeing in everyones social media feeds> but for todays post I couldn't help but use DC's famous Cherry Blossoms as my backdrop and inspiration for this ELOQUII floral spring look.

DC Cherry Blossoms

Awhile ago I said in a post that there was nothing prettier than DC under freshly fallen snow. This morning I decided that there is nothing prettier than cherry blossom season in DC. In addition to the blooms along the Tidal Basin and throughout the city, shops have cherry blossom stickers adorning the windows, and local bars, restaurants, and bakeries have themed food and drinks, too. It is truly a beautiful season that us locals take pride in.

In celebration of the blossoms, I have florals on the mind. While its been cool this week thus far, this weekend is going to be in the 80s and all my floral print clothing are begging to be worn. While I own a bunch of floral dresses and skirts, I don't have any floral pants. As someone who has a hard time with pants, I normally steer clear of pants other than jeans. After seeing this

Daisy Stupid Love Print at ELOQUII <yes, thats really the name of the print, lol> , I decided to take a risk and try out these cropped floral pants. Not only were they cute, but they looked comfortable. Plus, I have been wanting to find a good pair of cropped pants for awhile.

I was so surprised by the fit of these Printed Crop Pants and how good I felt in them. Since the pants are not fitted, I decided to wear them with a ELOQUII bodysuit from last season to streamline and show off my figure, and topped with a classy white ELOQUII Georgia Blazer for a super polished look. What I like most about this combo is the versatility. It is dressy enough for a work place (obviously with a different top underneath, this one is too much cleavage for work!), weekend brunch, or a night out!

Tip: When ordering the pants, order a size up if you are bigger in the hips/mid-section!

Outfit Details:

You all know how much I love ELOQUII and their variety of styles and prints. Right now they have some super fab florals that I want to share. I have gone through the ELOQUII site and picked my favorite florals in varying styles, all in preparation for spring that will soon be landing in DC!

Fab Florals from ELOQUII:

In closing, I want to share with you my number one tip on visiting the cherry blossoms in DC: Go early, on a weekday. When I was a teenager I learned this tip from my mom. She took me once at 7am on a weekday at peak season, and no one was there. We took pictures of each other among the empty cherry blossom trees on a disposable camera. I still have the photos somewhere, and I was wearing a floral tank and jeans from Abercrombie, lol. Isn't it funny how we can remember things that happened years ago vividly, yet I can't remember what I had for breakfast on Saturday? Now, almost 20 years later, this is still my tradition to see the blossoms- go early and go on a weekday to avoid tourists and crowds. I met Arielle, my blog photographer, early yesterday morning to shoot this look, and other than the occasional runner or handful of couples having engagement photos, there was no one around. It was perfect.

XOXO
