3 Years of BITD & Rebelle Con

Cue up Jay Z & Kanye's Made it in America 🎶| Started a little blog just to get some traffic |🎶 because it's been on repeat for me today, as today marks 3 years of BITD.

When ever there is a milestone we tend to reflect on the past, and what we want for the future....which brings me to some REAL TALK for today's post. Here it goes.....

While I should be proud of everything I have accomplished in these 3 years and how much I have grown as a person, I still have a hard time accepting these accomplishments and not beating myself up for not having more. We always want more instead of accepting what we have now - which is something I have always struggled with on a personal level. While I love social media as it has exposed me to many of you - and that is something I am <forever> grateful for - there are also some downsides that come with it. It can create a stigma by seeing what everyone else is doing and getting down on ourselves and our lives, especially when it comes to blogging. I know this feeling and I have experienced it, too. I want to share something that Alison of Wardrobe Oxygen told me when I first started BITD: "Never compare yourself to anyone else." This one piece of advice has resonated with me the most throughout these 3 years.

Going forward with my next year of BITD, I'm going to turn my focus back on myself, instead of comparing myself to others or goals I haven't accomplished - something a lot of us need to do. I'm going to continue to strive to reach these goals and dreams and drown out the background noise and be determined and set in what I want for BITD as a career.

I'm starting off by attending the Rebelle Con hosted by Shannon Siriano Greenwood of Lemon Umbrella LLC and contributor Sydney Lester of Chic Stripes, a conference geared to empower and inspire women to construct a life and career we desire by centering topics around wellness, money, community, and creativity. Join me for the conference Nov 9-11 in Richmond, VA and use the code "rebellebloggers" for $50 off your Lifestyle or Keynote ticket by Oct 31 on www.rebellecon.com. It's going to be awesome and this conference couldn't be coming at a better time.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has been a part of my blog journey thus far- it truly means the world to me and I appreciate & love all of you.

XOXO
