Fab Friday: Stitch Fix

Its been awhile since I did a FAB Friday, so today I'm bringing a good one. Today I'm dishing about Stitch Fix and why I'm totally loving their concept.

I was approached to work with Stitch Fix in August. Now, I've said this before and I'll say it again- I'm super picky and I much prefer in-person shopping. I sometimes personally have a hard time if I'm not the one picking out my clothes. This is also why I enjoy shopping solo and to not be bombarded by sales associates in store. I was also worried about sizing, but I was pleased to hear Stitch Fix carries plus sizes! So, that said, after milling over it I decided to just go for it and give it a try to change it up and try it out. With Stitch Fix, you are completely out of the loop and you are given a dedicated stylist who picks your items for your monthly fix.

I signed up and filled out a survey about my personal style. The survey is pretty extensive and covers a lot, which made me feel good about my upcoming picks. It ranges from styles you like to your preferred price points, which I liked. Once you have filled out the survey and all of your account info, you are sent a fix box with 5 items. The 5 items can range from apparel, to accessories, to shoes. Once you receive your fix, you can decide what to keep, exchange, or return. You will only be charged if you decide to keep or exchange an item and the return shipping is free and easy.

Unfortunately, my first Stitch Fix was not a success. The items weren't bad, but they just weren't my personal style and the fit was a bit off. I ended up returning the fix. I was told by Hannah, my Stitch Fix POC, that this happens sometimes, as the stylists are still getting to know your personal style - and that totally makes sense to me. Plus, I'm super picky. My next fix was much better, with the majority of the items working, and the third was the best. I wanted to keep everything in it, but I had to send a few items back since they were already sold out for an exchange.

What I like the most about Stitch Fix, is the ease. I wasn't sure how I'd like not picking out my clothes personally, but having clothing delivered to your door that were hand picked for you is an awesome feeling, especially when everything in the fix works! It saves you time shopping, and, the items are something you likely wouldn't find otherwise. I like how personal it felt too, as my third fix truly fit my entire aesthetic! I think everyone should try it out, even if you are a picky shopper like me, because you may be pleasantly surprised!
