A little while ago I did a poll on holiday content requests, and one request I received was for a list of local boutiques for plus size holiday outfits. This one hit me hard- while I LOVE to shop and support local, it is so hard to shop locally for clothing size 14+! Our options here in DC are limited, but we do at least have some pretty solid options!

Based on both where I shop and places I know carry plus sizes, I curated a list of my top places to shop plus sizes here in the DC area, just in time for last minute shopping for holiday events this weekend and into next week and New Years Eve. Although the majority of shops on my list are not locally owned small businesses, there are a few and I hope this drives home that fact that we need more options! That said, if you know of a locally owned boutique that carries plus sizes and is not on my list, write to me and let me know! I'm always on the hunt for more options and I'd love to share more local shops in the future as well!

1. ELOQUII

The literal gold crown of plus shopping in the DC area is ELOQUII, hands down. Located in Pentagon City mall, ELOQUII is my go-to shop, period. They currently have a TON of holiday options for literally every occasion and also have accessories, shoes, tights, and handbags. I just did a store tour and try on session with 11 holiday look ideas thats available in my IGTV!

2. Trunk Clubhouse

As you may know I'm a huge fan of Trunk Club and luckily for us, we have a Trunk Clubhouse here in Penn Quarter! If you're looking for some assistance in creating your dream holiday look, you can sign up for Trunk Club for a super easy personal shopping experience. At your appointment, your stylist will have curated looks for you based on your style profile. 3. Nordstrom

As a follow up to the above option, I obviously must have Nordstrom on this list! With locations in Tysons Corner, Pentagon City Mall, and Montgomery Mall, Nordstrom carries select plus size options in each store. I've found the Montgomery Mall Nordy's seems to have the best plus options in store. If you want to check the inventory before making the trek to any of these locations, I usually search the Nordstrom site plus section with the filter on for in-store pick up so I know in advance if they have my size or what I'm looking for which is super helpful!

4. Bloomingdale's

Another one of my fave department stores, the Bloomie's in Tysons Corner has a plus size section, as well as the best parking in the entire mall (not kidding- the Bloomies garage 2nd level is my go-to for easy parking and tons of spaces). Again with my inventory trick mentioned above, I usually do a glance at the in-store plus selection before I go in to see the available options!

5. LOFT

Obviously a staple of mine, LOFT carries their plus collection in-store at the Tysons Corner & Fairfax Corner LOFT locations! While the collections are smaller than the full collection available online you can find great staples and fun options (especially jackets, sweaters, blazers and jeans!), for more casual holiday events and parties.

6. Fias Fab Finds

If you haven't heard of Fia's Fab Finds yet, let this be your formal introduction. Fia's is a local, woman-owned consignment boutique located in Petworth that carries plus sizes! I personally consign with Fia and have been a supporter of her boutique for 2 years. She caters specifically to women of all sizes and I love that Fia's sets the tone of what more local consignment shops should be! While the inventory is constantly rotating, Fia's always has a seasonal selection and offers in-store styling.

7. M.M.LaFleur

When I think of M.M.LaFleur I think of professional and elevated classics! If you have a more professional or casual holiday function, head into the M.M. LaFleur by McPherson Square.

8. Rent the Runway

While it can't always be guaranteed, the Rent the Runway in Georgetown does carry plus sizes in their inventory. If you are looking for a more sustainable option or a super fancy dress that you're only going to wear once, head to the Rent the Runway showroom and see their options! RTR would be perfect for NYE and also has accessories and bags available for rent as well so you can style and rent an entire look!

9. Anthropologie

Not only does Anthro have amazing home gifts, but you can double up on your next holiday shopping trip with the whole "one gift for you, two gifts for me" mentality at the Anthro in Bethesda Row, lol! This location carries the A+ plus collection which has fun and glittery options for holiday dressing!

10. Torrid

I didn't even realize until recently that we had TWO Torrid locations locally in Tysons Corner and Springfield Mall! Whether you're looking for a holiday dress or a ugly holiday sweater, Torrid has a vast selection of options!

11. Le Bustiere

So you have your look but now you need some gorgeous new under garments to go with it.... head into Le Bustiere in Adams Morgan. This local, woman-owned specialty lingerie boutique in Adams Morgan celebrates women of all shapes and sizes and carries bra sizes 28A to 46K!
